Quick and tasty recipe for bolognese for the Ninja Foodi
Put the Ninja Foodi on Sear/Saute High and let it warm up for a minute or two. Add the red pepper to the pot and let it fry gently for about 2 minutes
Now add the minced beef. Stir it around with a wooden spoon and keep cooking until the beef has turned brown. This takes around 3-4 minutes maximum. Do not let it overcook, just get rid of the redness
Now add in the garlic (optional) and mushrooms and stir through. You can add in some salt and pepper to season now if you wish. Cook for 1-2 minutes just to heat it through. Turn off the Sear/Saute
Pour the two jars of sauce over the meat/pepper/mushroom mix. DO NOT STIR (this is really important)
Pour over the pasta evenly (I used twists but any pasta or spaghetti would be fine), again DO NOT STIR.
Gently pour over the 340ml hot water with the oxo in (you don't have to add the oxo, water alone is fine I just like the beefy taste)
Pressure Cook for 5 minutes on High and Quick Release the pressure. Now you can stir and it will be perfect
Sprinkle over the grated cheese and Grill on for around 3-4 minutes to melt the cheese, longer if you want it more crispy. Now it is good to serve, Enjoy !

This worked perfectly, and tasted amazing! 🙂
Thank you. I must try this..
Love this recipe. Made it twice now and works perfect. No messing with cooking pasta separately. Can’t believe how good it is. I added some onions and some Italian seasoning. Great recipe.
This recipe is awesome. I add onions, celery, tarragon and oregano. (I like mine with a lot of flavour so some lea and perrins). I find mature cheddar works best.
Wife loves it. I love it. Kids love it.
Happy days
Excellent!
Glad you enjoyed it
First time I’ve used a Foodie recipe. Worked well. So easy! Great that didn’t have to boil pasta separately! Tasted great. However we like our pasta cooked a bit more. Please can you advise how much longer in the pressure cooker?
Try just adding a couple more minutes. It won’t need long.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Can you use chicken pieces instead of mince for this recipe please
yes of course – adjust the recipe as you prefer
Hello, sorry im a newbie so have a question, is it fresh pasta or dried pasta?
Whatever you prefer
Hi.
Can you do this with regular straight pasta?
Cheers
JD
Yes,, whatever pasta you want
My second dish with my new ninja 15-1 and so impressed with one pot/ many cooking methods under one roof. This tasted amazing and have enough for 5 meals -THANK YOU
My first attempt and it was absolutely delicious! Pasta was cooked perfectly too. Loving my ninja
I made this a couple of nights ago. It was absolutely delicious and so quick and easy. I didn’t have pasta sauce or pasta shapes so I replaced with passata tinned cherry tomatoes and a bit of tomato purée and spaghetti. I was surprised how well the spaghetti cooked. Thank you. Will definitely be making this again and again. Hubby loved it.
What’s best method for reheating left overs ?
I don’t like to use Jars of Bolognese Sauce, too much sugar.
Can you advised on an alternative home made sauce?
You can easily use your own bolognese sauce for this recipe. You can either make it separately and add to the recipe instead of the jar OR simply add 2 x tins of chopped tomatoes, 6 cherry tomatoes (halved), a teaspoon of basil and oregano, 2 tbsp tomato puree and 125ml red wine.
If I use this option do I still add the water?..
I cooked this tonight however it turned out very very black with flakes of black bits in it? I only used one jar of pasta sauce as I had half the amount of mince was that my mistake? Don’t know what the black flakes were though but they were at the bottom when I stirred at the end of all the cooking Many thanks
Hi when on quick release do you put the valve to seal or vent ?
on seal until the pressure cooking is complete and then vent to release the pressure
Just had the Ninja 15-in-1 for a fortnight and happened to find your site. Made the spag. bol. today and it was the best I’ve ever tasted = and I am nearly eighty! Great work – keep it up.
That’s amazing 😍
